Tantra Workshops
Tantra is an ancient path of Self Discovery. It is a philosophy of Non Duality that focuses on our embodied experience and offers practices and methods that liberate and channel sexual energy to achieve higher and more ecstatic states of consciousness.
Tantra believes in Union with the whole existence and understands that the Union of Man and Woman is preparing us to have a divine union with the Whole. The Vision of Tantra that comes from the Ancient Enlightened Masters is that Tantra is a path of Transformation that is rooted in meditative awareness and that Sexual Energy used consciously can facilitate this movement from Sex to love and finally to prayer.
In the workshops we approach sex with a sacred consciousness that allows us to bring a depth and healing to intimate relationships. We learn to let go of performance and image and through carefully designed meditations, exercises and sharings we gently learn a new way of being intimate and making love that is deeply relaxing and nourishing.
At the same time we bring understanding to what it means to be a Man, what is the Essence of the Masculine polarity and what it means to be a Woman. By consciously applying these principles we enhance the natural magnetic attraction between the two polarities bringing more passion , presence and grace to our relationships.
Often this needs a bit of learning or relearning as the conditioning that we have encountered during our formative years has not allowed us to fully embrace ourselves as alive, passionate and sensual men and women. In Tantra, relaxation, acceptance and expression are keys, we learn to be present instead of relying on fantasy, we learn the beauty of being in the moment instead of anticipating what will come in the future and finally we learn to really love and give love and pleasure to each other through being grounded in our own experience.
Some comments on Tantra in the West
The word Tantra has been misunderstood in Western society and has come to mean a variety of techniques borrowed from the East used to spice up a flagging sex life, but in fact Tantra means much more than that .
The word Tantra come from the sanskirt words tan and tra.
Tan means to stretch and expand, it means that we need to stretch our consciousness into meditation , to open our senses so that we can perceive and feel very minute and subtle sensations. This allows us to penetrate the deeper realities of life and existence and to bring to lovemaking and exquisite sensitivity that deepens our presence in meditative awareness. It allows us to see the interconnectedness of all things
The tra part of the word Tantra refers to a method or a technique or a practice. So we learn that Meditation and lovemaking need to be a practice , that we need to devote time and energy to this.
The ancients understood that the life force contained in Sex is immensely powerful and when used rightly this energy is capable of changing our consciousness as well as giving us great benefits of health and well being. Modern Sex is too focused on immediate gratification, on Orgasm and excitement. Unfortuntely we are unable to sustain this long term and so what Tantra offers us is a way to slow down and relax and use our intimacy to awaken deeper and more subtle energies.
We need to slow down and move into presence, drop performance and relearn the art of lovemaking. Finding out what is the essence of man and woman, bringing these magnetic polarities to life and enhancing the divine attraction between men and women.
